The moment Francis rose into the sky and unleashed his final attack to claim Roel’s life, Charlotte felt her heart pounding in unease.

She instinctively knew something bad was going to happen.

The Sorofyas were a clan whose greatest strength lay in their ability to observe fate, and Charlotte was a prodigy amongst them.

As the inheritor of the Arbiter of Fate Bloodline, she would receive warnings whenever danger was about to strike.

Charlotte felt her bloodline rattling violently the moment Francis set his eyes on Roel.

The guidance of fate warned her of what was about to happen.

“Go to hell, Roel Ascart!”

With a vengeful howl, Francis released his miasma and his body exploded right after.

Familiar with how curse-related magic worked, Charlotte was able to figure out Francis’ thoughts right away.

“Darling!” she screamed.

She quickly contracted the dome of the Golden Soul around Roel before ricocheting him away.

The abrupt acceleration caused Roel to sink into the cushioned walls of the Golden Soul.

Just like that, a chase between the golden sphere and the black miasma unfolded.

Charlotte’s Golden Soul was still able to move extremely fast at the start under the infusion of her mana, but she couldn’t continue supplying mana to it once it was beyond a certain range.

It slowly dropped to the ground and started bouncing around.

Its speed also slowed under the forces of friction and air resistance.

Unlike the almost weightless black miasma, the Golden Soul was heavy and bulky.

The result of the chase was already decided right from the start.

In a matter of seconds, the black miasma had already caught up to Roel.

But before it could really envelop him to deal the finishing blow, a mysterious mana pulsation suddenly rippled from Roel’s clothes.

【Blessed Wheat

“This…”

Roel was taken aback by the abrupt System notification.

The next instant, he suddenly underwent intense turbulence that caused him to bump all around the sphere of Golden Soul he was in.

It was such a disorientating experience that he suddenly wondered if the spirits for the Saint Freya Academy’s entrance ceremony felt the same way being carried around too.

Even during the intense bumping, he tried his best to look around and make sense of what was going on.

He was being ricocheted from building to building, and the moment before he was swallowed by the black miasma, he suddenly crashed through a window to enter a room.

Bam!

The sphere of Golden Soul slammed into the room’s wall before finally stalling to a halt, having run out of kinetic energy.

A few seconds later, the sphere started melting into its fluid form, freeing Roel from within.

Roel subconsciously raised his arms in front of him to defend against Francis’ final attack, but to his surprise, the frightening miasma didn’t follow him into the room.

It had been blocked off by a magic barrier cast over the window.

Weng!

With a loud buzz, the magic barrier easily deflected the black miasma, which had lost considerable momentum after traveling several kilometers.

Roel stared blankly at the shattered window in front of him as he tried his best to understand what was going on.

There’s a barrier here, not to mention, this barrier actually has the power to deflect divine-type attacks! I actually survived just like that

Roel felt deeply moved.

He turned to the System with eyes glistening with tears.

System, it looks like I’ve misunderstood you! The Blessed Wheat was truly a godsend!

Roel murmured his apologies to the System as he vowed to purchase it once more should he ever see it in the Affection Points Exchange Shop again, even if it was undiscounted.

Having finally made it through the crisis, he slowly regained his composure.

“But this place…”

Roel scanned his surroundings in hopes of figuring out where he was, only to find himself faced with a pair of pink eyes right away.

He widened his eyes in astonishment.

Someone else is here!

Roel quickly rose to his feet before taking another careful look.

He was currently in an exquisitely decorated room.

There was a tea table not too far away, where a pink-haired lady sat with a teapot in her hand.

Her elegant dress-up and graceful movements showed that she was no commoner.

She was accompanied by a fully armored figure who quietly stood behind her, reminiscent of a knight.

…

“…”

“…”

Roel stared at the duo in front of him speechlessly, not knowing what to say.

The appearances of the duo in front of him were simply too peculiar, be it the knight who remained fully armored from head to toe despite being inside a room or the lady with unusual hair color.

There were all sorts of races and transcendent powers on the Sia Continent, resulting in a diverse variety of hair colors.

The four ladies with whom Roel had close relationships with had different hair colors.

Even so, pink hair was pretty unusual.

The most primitive human hair color was probably black—or at least that was what the Ackermanns, the ex-rulers of humankind, claimed.

Vibrant hair and iris colors usually represented certain special bloodlines or unusual transcendent mutations.

Take Charlotte for example, her High Elf Bloodline resulted in her hair taking a lustrous auburn shade.

Just the pink-haired lady was already plenty surprising, but the armored figure standing behind her was even more of a shocker.

The reason for that was simple—Roel recognized him.

Isn’t that William from the protagonist’s party

Roel quickly dug into the dredges of his memory to rake up information regarding the armored figure from Eyes of the Chronicler.

William Cambonyte, born in Knight Kingdom Pendor, adopted son of the Cambonyte Royal Family of Pendor.

In Eyes of the Chronicler, he transferred to Saint Freya Academy during their Second Grade.

He was on good terms with the protagonist, Paul Ackermann, and was a member of the Request Club too.

What’s going on Why is he here Ah, wait a moment…

Roel looked at the fully armored William, followed by the pink-haired lady, and finally, the pink aurora glowing outside the window.

Then, he slammed his fist on his palm in realization.

Ah, he’s here to watch the aurora with his girlfriend.

Knight Kingdom Pendor is indeed not too far away, though it’s still quite surprising that we would coincidentally bump into each other here…

Knowing that the duo in front of him was unlikely to be hostile, Roel heaved a sigh of relief.

He was just about to apologize and take his leave when he suddenly heard a magnetic echoing from the helmet of the armored figure.

“What a surprise, Roel Ascart.

I never thought that we would end up meeting in such a fashion.

Is this heaven’s will”

“!”

Roel’s body froze in place.
