Chapter 103 – Let’s gather information from a few sources!!

I ask Halhammer to close the door after he leaves, and exit the building.

The dark night is illuminated by bright magic items, and I can see people busily working here and there.

The air feels tense, but it can’t be helped.

Our own country’s army is coming to attack us.

I take out a grass brick while walking and start nibbling it.

I haven’t eaten since I got back to Habbafulton.

I should probably go back to my tent right away, but there are a few things on my mind.

I take out another grass brick and eat it while looking at the stars.

I’ve been getting to know more people here in Habbafulton.

I say hello to people as I pass by them, and keep walking while asking a few questions.

“Master Rust! Are you eating that again Take this with you! It’s good!”

I pass by Litna, and he gives me a skewer with meat on it.

Apparently the people in charge of our food supply are working overtime to support the departments working late.

I end up taking quite a lot of skewers, and I eat one along with the grass brick.

“Yes.

A change of flavor really gets the appetite going.”

Eventually I see the first place I want to visit, a new place that was built recently, since we have secured our supply of bricks.

It’s exactly where some people I passed by on the way here told me it was.

I look around and spot what looks to be the entrance.

As I make my way there, the person standing by the entrance talks to me.

“Master Rust! How can I help you”

“Are Roa or Ahri here”

“Ah, they are both here.

I will take you to them.”

I follow this person.

While I was walking around, I asked some people where they thought Ahri and Roa might be, and this watchtower sounded like a safe bet.

Sure enough, I see them when I reach the top.

“Good work, Ahri and Roa.”

“Yes.”

Answers Roa, who is sitting on the edge of the tower and swinging her legs.

“Good evening Master Rust.

Is something the matter Why did you come all the way here”

Asks Ahri, sounding puzzled.

“I came to bring you this.

I heard you were here monitoring the enemy.”

I say while handing them skewers Litna gave me earlier.

Roa quickly snatches them out of my hands.

I didn’t even see her getting up and walking in front of me.

I smile awkwardly while taking out more from my backpack and giving them to Ahri.

“Thank you.

Roa, where are your manners and your gratitude”

“Yes.

I’ll be careful.

Rust, you are very thoughtful.”

Answers Roa with juices from the meat around her mouth.

She finishes her food quickly, but it doesn’t look like that was enough, so I take out more.

She passes in front of me like a gust of wind, leaving my hands empty and the skewers in hers.

“Sorry for making you report to Kalin earlier, Ahri.”

I ignore Roa snatching food out of my hands again and talk to Ahri.

“No problem.

How is your progress in preparing countermeasures against the enemy”

“I’ll be done tomorrow.

We selected and treated the materials today, and I told everyone to go to sleep.

On to the main topic, any changes in the enemy’s speed Are they still marching without taking a break or sleeping”

“No, they stopped.”

Roa tells me what she sees with her long distance sight while she eats.

“I see, that’s good.

Then we’ll make it in time.

That’s one less thing for me to worry about.

I breathe a sigh of relief.

“I’ll be going now.

Make sure you take a break too.”

I say goodbye to Ahri and Roa, and start walking to Kalin’s place.
