Cheng Zhaoci is looking at Wei Zhuo quietly.

“I’ve once thought that, whichever shemale or demi ended up striking your fancy, I’ll be on the sidelines to watch over you, to protect you,” Wei Zhuo says, his slightly trembling tone betraying a hint of nervousness, “until, I realised, I could not.

I’m not actually that selfless.

Not even if your cijun were to be some perfect, ideal shemale.”

Here, for the first time as well, Cheng Zhaoci is bravely extending his hand to paw at the grade S shemale’s head, ruffling the hair.

Really, Wei Zhuo looks so utterly helpless right now.

Helpless and pitiful.

Cheng Zhaoci thus discovers that while grade S shemales are said to have strength rivalling a full metal mecha, their hair is actually quite soft, “don’t overthink it.

It is impossible to fall in love without selfishness.

If you could accept some ridiculous ‘perfect shemale’ to be my cijun, then what you’re feeling cannot have been love.”

“You’re a good insectoid.

Definitely, 100% great,” Cheng Zhaoci declares.

Wei Zhuo was not treated with much kindness by the harsh realities of insectoid society.

Cheng Zhaoci actually thinks Jin Yue is the most normal insectoid he’s seen so far – not in terms of his mental state, of course, but in terms of his feelings and actions taken after he was unreasonably hurt.

If all the world has given an insectoid is pain and suffering, then don’t be surprised when pain and suffering is all he knows to do.

Cheng Zhaoci doesn’t know why Wei Zhuo still plays by the rules.

He thought it was his sense of duty to the insectoids at first, but now that Wei Zhuo has effectively confessed to having nothing but apathy for the rules… well, maybe he is still very slightly dutiful, but nothing more, perhaps because his granddad is still there for him, or he has strong moral guidance, but regardless, it is a miracle Wei Zhuo did not become misanthropic or vengeful towards society, especially when all the factors are there to conspire making him into one.

Cheng Zhaoci gets up and walks next to Wei Zhuo to give him a big hug – an even closer, intimate form of interaction between them than that time he hugged Wei Zhuo when he was home, “I like you, because you are a brilliant, dazzling beacon of an insectoid.”

What else can he even say about Wei Zhuo He rescued him from the landfill planet.

He helped Xiao Ji and He Huaijian into the military academy, and found teachers for them.

He kept everything organised and, most importantly, the house he’s living in is Wei Zhuo’s!

If it were any other insectoid, who’s given this much, and has developed romantic feelings, they can simply morally entrap the target of their affections.

Not Wei Zhuo, who is even resolved to being that guardian angel bull**, thinking it’s ‘selfish’ if he couldn’t accept Cheng Zhaoci finding a cijun in another shemale or demi.

He doesn’t really feel much responsibility towards the insectoid society, but even so, he defended it nonetheless, even risking his life on occasions.

That little stubborn spirit of freedom he keeps trapped inside has never hurt anyone.

In fact, he has saved countless lives, and perhaps even the insectoids at large.

That’s why, that little nervous probing from Wei Zhuo, makes Cheng Zhaoci empathise in pain.

Cheng Zhaoci isn’t rubbing himself on the beloved chest muscles or pecs, because Wei Zhuo is still sitting.

His head is perfectly situated for Cheng Zhaoci’s embrace.

Wei Zhuo, meanwhile, seems so shocked he even forgot to breathe.

Finally, the lack of oxygen gets through to his brain, and he starts inhaling and calling out, “mi-mister!”

Oh no! He doesn’t know how to breathe anymore! He’s so close!

“Shh, let me hug you,” Cheng Zhaoci pulls the hug tighter.

Sigh, their most legendary grade S shemale, isn’t nearly as invulnerable and cold-hearted as they say.

Wei Zhuo has kept his eyes shut as he tentatively puts his hands over Cheng Zhaoci’s waist as well.

His hands, capable of the most minute and precise operations on a mecha, is actually shaking a little.

When no objection comes from Cheng Zhaoci, he tightens his hug as well.

While the lovebirds are hugging each other silly, Meng Yuele, Sun Wushe, and some coworkers of theirs are drinking again.

They seem even crestfallen than last time.

Not too long ago, they were all too happy to discover that they could enjoy some sweet romance for once.

Today, though, is the day the ‘sweet romance’ bared its fangs and tore them apart limb from limb.

That damned author!

Well, all the damning and cussing are coming from the coworkers who don’t know any better.

Meng Yuele could never say something about the young, lovable male no matter how angry he gets.

Though when he sees a colleague of his proclaim that he would find the author and give him a good beating if he knew who he is, Meng Yuele can’t help but agree.

If Cheng Zhaoci were a shemale or even a demi, he might have done exactly that.

Too bad he’s a male.

Obviously, the punch would be devastating for both parties involved.

And if Wei Zhuo even so much as catches wind of his intentions, he would not hesitate to forgo friends and relatives for justice – he being the ‘friend and relative’ in this case.

The same dilemma befalls He Huaijian and Xiao Ji.

He Huaijian, who’s been working on his secret project, is out of his room for once, standing in silence across from Xiao Ji.

Xiao Ji, meanwhile, has buried his face in his hands, “I finally know why he is taking refuge in Squadron Leader Wei’s house.”

Their little heartless brother must have figured out this would happen.

He’s avoiding all of them.

Their school forum has already blown up in discussion, or rather, in condemnation over the madness of the crazy author.

And that’s not the worst of it.

Zhou Luoluo is hanging out in the city today, only to notice the CBD shopping plaza’s biggest screen space was rented out by some presumably extremely rich male, who is making three simple lines of text roll through on a loop.

[BombInMyPants, give me back my demi reporter!]

[Are you not satisfied with one ‘In a Tiny Flicker’]

[Cease your reprehensible storytelling at once!]

Zhou Luoluo has no words to describe the shock he is feeling anymore.

He quickly puts his holodeck to work recording it, and sends it straight to Cheng Zhaoci who he suspects is savouring some alone time with Wei Zhuo right now.
